Fairy
Lake Scenic Area is located in Lumeiyi Town on the northeast of the county town
with 5 kilometers away from Stone Forest Center Scenic Area.
It
is made up of Qingshuitang Village, Fairy Lake Stone Forest, and Weiboyi Gorge,
etc.
Though
not open yet, the scenic area has been included in the development plan by
Stone Forest Management Area, planned to combine the Fairy Lake view and
traditional village experience with the golf club in the south of Fairy Lake
based on conserving the lake water and greening the barren hills to form a
unique tourism spot.
Fairy
Lake is the largest and most beautiful scenery with stone forest combining
water, and the nearby Qingshuitang Village is of primitive simplicity and
quietness, full of rich Sani ethnic custom. Red earth houses in the shade of
neem trees, carts driven by bulls or horses on country roads, tall tobacco
drying rooms, thatched roofs covered by
moss, and golden corns hanging in the tree in autumn and winter...show the
environment that feels like oil paintings. About 2 kilometers from Fairy Lake
there is Weiboyi Gorge, where Triplophysa shilinensis has been found in the
cave at the bottom of the gorge. And relevant academic papers, after
publication, function as supplement for Stone Forest to apply for World Natural
Heritage, obtaining high praise and attention.
At
present, there are rural roads accessing to that area: it takes about 1 hour by
car from the Stone Forest Center Scenic Area; there is also a path of about 5
kilometers from the Ancient Ganoderma Scenic Area on the south of the Major and
Minor Stone Forests, having natural scenery of abundant stone forests and
clints along the way.
To
visit this area, visitors need to bring their own drinking water and food as
well as sneakers and clothes suitable for walking on slopes.
